Prayer Requests
Dear Friends,
Easter blessings to you and your care-receiver. Thank you so much for what you're doing to help him or her. Without a doubt, caregiving is hard, hard, hard!
I'm sorry I can't send you a chocolate bunny or a bag of jelly beans for your Easter basket, but here a few gifts, a few words, from five saints:
On Easter, from "the boys"
"The season before Easter [Lent] signifies the troubles in which we
live here and now, while the time after Easter which we are
celebrating at present signifies the happiness that will be ours in
the future."
--St. Augustine
"Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and
hallelujah is our song."
--St. John Paul II
And on caregiving and challenges now, from "the girls"
"At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we
have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we
have done. We will be judged by 'I was hungry, and you gave me
something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless,
and you took me in.'" [Not that we were perfect at caregiving, but
that we were caregivers.]
--St. Teresa of Calcutta
"We always find that those who walked closest to Christ were those
who had to bear the greatest trials."
--St. Teresa of Avila
"What a joy to remember that she [Mary] is our Mother! Since she
loves us and knows our weakness, what have we to fear?"
--St. Thérèse of Lisieux
You remain in my prayers.
