Prayer Requests
Dear Friends,
I was pleased to see Pope Francis began his message for World Day of the Sick 2018 with these familiar verses:
Mater Ecclesiae: "Behold, your son... Behold, your mother. And from that hour the disciple took her into his home." (Johnn 19:26-27)
You may not know "Mater Eccelesiae" is Latin for "Mother of the Church" but John 19:26-27 is how we chose St. John the Apostle to also become St. John the Caregiver.
Here's the part where Pope Francis talks about... you:
"We cannot forget the tender love and perseverance of many
families in caring for their chronically sick or severely disabled
children, parents and relatives.
"The care given within families is an extraordinary witness of love
for the human person; it needs to be fittingly acknowledged and
supported by suitable policies."
Well done, Dear Caregiver!

And here is more about the 26th World Day of the Sick which, this year, is marked on Sunday, February 11.

Again this week we cordially invite you to join the Friends of St. John the Caregiver! (FSJC's programs include YourAgingParent.com and CatholicCaregivers.com.) You can find out more about becoming a member here.
No meetings, no dues. All we ask is that you pray for caregivers and those receiving care. Our members include caregivers, care-receivers, and those who support both (including quite a few former caregivers).
You can:

or call us toll-free at 1-800-392-JOHN (5646)
